Valdez COVID Updates 10/15

A message from the City of Valdez: COVID-19 cases in Valdez have quickly become worse than they have ever been. Our households, schools, businesses and medical community are all being affected. We need your help, now more than ever, to mask up, consistently socially distance, get tested if you exhibit any symptom of the virus, and please talk to your medical provider or the public health nurse about COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots. The Valdez community has been able to come together to deal with the toughest of challenges, and we’re asking for your help now to protect the health, wellness and life of everyone in our community.  Mask up and stay safe, Valdez!

Effective 10/15/21 at 5:00pm — Due to the current active case count and recent spike in local COVID-19 cases, ALL Parks and Recreation programs have been CANCELLED and facilities will be CLOSED to the public at this time until at least Monday, November 1.

Program participants will be contacted directly by staff and receive a full refund for any program fees if applicable.

Drive Thru COVID-19 Testing Coming Soon to Valdez: Save the Dates!

A company called the Capstone Clinic will be sending professionals here to provide Valdez Drive Thru COVID-19 Testing Clinics for members of the Valdez General Public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Oct. 17 through Oct. 19 AND Oct. 24 through Oct. 26 by the Civic Center on Clifton Court.

This testing is for any member of our community and registrations are required in order to get tested. Visit www.covidsecureapp.com to register and select “Sign Up.” This site can be used to provide health insurance information, but those who don’t have health insurance should complete as much information as they can to register and still show up to get tested. Testing results will be sent to the e-mail address you register with in approximately a half hour. Photo identification will be required the day of. Please consider getting tested to help with protecting our community during the latest surge of COVID-19 cases.
