Valdez High School Sports 2/24-26

Please see the coaches summaries for Basketball, Nordic Ski and Esports.  This week the Aca Deca Team will be traveling to Anchorage for their State competition on Wednesday, March 1st @ breakfast break.  The basketball and cheer teams will be traveling to Delta on Friday, March 3rd @ 8:00 a.m. for their last Aurora Conference games.

EPA Blocks Pebble Mine-AP

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency took an unusually strong step Tuesday and blocked a proposed mine heralded by backers as the most significant undeveloped copper and gold resource in the world because of concerns about its environmental impact on a rich Alaska aquatic ecosystem that supports the world’s largest sockeye salmon fishery.
