April is Poetry Month

April Snow

7,

Snow covered trees under blue sky

The morning world sparkles

Sun on new-fallen snow

A bright white coverlet

Blankets dirty break-up berms

The air on your face is warm and damp

Sweet with the scent of alder buds

Shining snow clumps adorn branches

In shining Easter finery

Magically a clump rises

And veers

Lost to sight

Against the snowfield

Ptarmigan
