Early Voting Has Begun

The Division of Elections (DOE) would like to inform you that early voting has begun at over 150 locations throughout the state. This is an option available to you if you do not want to vote at your polling place on Election Day. Here are some things you can expect to see voting early or at the polling places on Election Day:

  1. Election officials will be wearing provided PPE, such as facial coverings and gloves.
  2. Hand sanitizer will be available for you to use before checking in, when using voting equipment and upon exiting the polling place.
  3. Facial coverings will be available for you, as well as disposable gloves.
  4. DOE will promote CDC recommended social distancing,
  5. Every effort will be made to space voting booths six feet apart.
  6. Election officials will be disinfecting the voting area throughout the day.

Primary Election is on Tuesday, August 18. On Election Day, polling places will be open from 7:00am to 8:00pm.

Note from the City of Valdez-People may vote absentee for the State Primary at the front counter at City Hall through August 17th. People may absentee vote from 8:30am to 5:00 pm. Mask required please.
