Former Valdez Mayor Dave Cobb passed away February 24th, 2020 in Gig Harbor Washington. He was 75.
Dave was born in Tacoma in 1944. He was a proud Vietnam veteran who served in the United States Marines from 1966 to 1970. Dave had a Bachelor of Science degree in Fish and Wildlife Biology from Montana State University and worked many years with Valdez Fisheries Development Association. He lived in Alaska for thirty years and was active in Valdez City government. He enjoyed fishing in Prince William Sound on his boat, the SeaBee, as well as hunting and rooting for the Seattle Seahawks
David Coleman Cobb is survived by Jean, his wife of fifty-two years, daughter Jennifer Roetman and son-in-law Paul, daughter Shannon Grabos and son-in-law Joe, grandchildren Noah, Joshua, Seth, Ethan and Zachary Roetman, Sofia and Max Grabos and brother and sister-in-law Brian and Kimberly Cobb. He will be sadly missed by his many friends in Alaska, especially Valdez.
