The Fraternal Order of Eagles Valdez Ladies Auxiliary 1971 Madam President Sheila Jordan, Trustee Chair Alicia Brown and Madam Secretary Carole Derifield presented Herman Hutchins Elementary School Principal Jayson Webber, teachers and staff at a staff meeting, $1000 for each grade, K through 5th and the VCS Pre-School with $500. We also presented Gilson Middle School Principal Rod Morrison and the Student Council, $1000 each for grades 6th through 8th for a total of $9500!
The FOE Aerie and Auxiliary 1971 strongly believe in continuing education and we’ve awarded scholarships to many students from Valdez High School throughout the years. We have a universal scholarship application that is for either the Auxiliary continuous scholarship for $3500 or the Aerie for $2250, both are split into three years. Details are on the application. We accept all students applications. The Alaska State Aerie and Auxiliary also have scholarships and the student must be a child and/or relative of a FOE Valdez Aerie or Auxiliary 1971 member, for details and copies of the State applications go to the Alaska State Aerie website at alaskaeagles.org. We’ll have copies of the applications at the VHS counselors office in March.
