CRNA’s Citizen of the Year is Lucy Pete. She was congratulated by CRNA Board President Charlene Nollner at our Annual Meeting in Gakona. One of her nominators wrote the following about Lucy: “Lucy’s commitment to the youth was shown by her creating a safe place for them to gather, time away from gaming devices and interacting with each other and keeping the youth being tempted by unhealthy activities. Even as her service has ended with the AmeriCorps program, Lucy can still be seen participating in the community events with the new AmeriCorps volunteer.”
Congratulations to Rene Nicklie, who was selected as Board Member of the Year for the Copper River Native Association. The board of directors selected Rene for outstanding service. One of her nominators said the following: “Ms. Nicklie shows much passion for her village and people. I see her as a great advocate for CRNA in the short time she has been on the board.”
Alyson Geldersma, was recognized as CRNA’s Employee of the Year. CRNA CEO Paul Rude presented Alyson with her award. One of Alyson’s nominators said the following: “As a mother, I’ve seen my child grow phenomenally since the center opened and that’s the result of the structure and planning that Alyson has set as the standard there with her team. As a fellow employee, her leadership and passion that she puts into her job and department cannot go unnoticed.”
