and the Defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

DUI: Sambo, Rhonda Lynne, DOB: 01/05/1973, of Valdez was arrested for driving under the influence and Failure to give immediate notice of a motor vehicle accident. Her Blood Alcohol level was a .219

Motor Vehicle Accident – Hit and Run: Complainant called to report that during the night a vehicle hit his car leaving debris behind. An Officer investigated the scene and determined that the accident was related to the DUI for Rhonda Sambo.

Transport: An individual came to the Police Department to ask for assistance to get to the Medical Clinic. The Corrections Officer provided the individual a ride to the Clinic.

Public Service: An Officer gave a Halloween safety presentation to the Elementary School students.

Motor Vehicle Accident – Damage: A report of a vehicle that hit a building was received. Officers and EMS responded to the scene. Officers found two people in the car and they were transported to the hospital. No citation issued at this time.

Suspicious Activity/Theft: A man called to report that two sets of tires and other property was stolen as well. He also reported that people were dumping stuff on his property. An Officer investigated and contacted the City Shop.

MICS Marijuana: A report of teenagers smoking marijuana in a vehicle was called in. Officers responded to the area but the vehicle had already left.

Theft Property: A caller reported someone removing a snow machine and trailer from a local parking lot and pulling into various parking lots. An Officer responded to the area, was able to locate the vehicle and spoke with the owner. The owner was able to prove the snow machine and trailer was his.
Criminal Mischief: A caller reported that her tire had been slashed. An Officer spoke to the individual who later called back to state that the tire was not slashed, but just had a hole.

Animal at Large: A report of an animal at large was called in. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area but no dogs were found.

Threat: A local business reported an individual came in and threatened to damage some property but did not want to press charges at this time. This information was passed on to the Officers.

Public Services: Officers gave presentations to several High School Health classes.

Animal at Large: A report of a black dog on the highway near the gold fields was received. The Animal Control Officer was unable to catch the dog, but did speak to the owner and gave a warning.

Lost Property: A woman stopped by the Police Department to report her purse was stolen. An Officer investigated the incident and spoke with the manager of the local business.

Alarm – Panic: A panic alarm was activated at a local business. An Officer responded and found that it had been accidentally bumped.

Short Term Protective Order: An Officer served a short term protective order to an individual.

Fraud: A caller reported that her debit card had fraudulent charges on it. An Officer investigated and the bank was notified.

Violate Conditions of Release: Gadomski, David James, DOB 04/17/1978, of Valdez was issued a citation for violating conditions of release.

Found Property: A pocket knife was found at the Halloween carnival and turned into the Valdez Police Department. Call with identifiers to claim.

Civil Dispute: A caller reported he was having a domestic dispute with his girlfriend because she was harassing him. An Officer investigated and found that it was a verbal disagreement and she was not at the residence. The Officer gave him advice regarding a protective order.

Domestic Assault: A caller reported hearing a woman screaming in a nearby apartment. Officers responded to the area subsequently an individual was taken into custody for a Probation Violation Remand.

Remand: Tucker, Joshua, DOB 08/08/92, of Valdez was remanded to Valdez City Jail for Probation Violation. Mr. Tucker’s condition of probation was not to use illegal drugs. His probation officer requested a drug test upon contact with him; to which he failed.

Alarm – Burglar: A burglar alarm was activated at a local business. An Officer responded to investigate, spoke with the owners and found everything to be in order.

Domestic Violence Protective Order: A domestic violence protective order was served on an individual.

Driving under the Influence: A caller reported that a person who was slurring his speech and smelled of alcohol had just left the courthouse. An Officer responded to the area and arrested McAlister, Richard John, DOB 10/01/66, of Valdez for driving under the influence. His BRaC was .126

Disturbance Other: An individual called to report someone outside of her apartment building and she was afraid to get out of her vehicle with her child. An Officer responded to the scene and talked to the individual in question and he moved on.

Public Service: An Officer gave a presentation to a couple of classes at Hermon Hutchens Elementary School.

Public Service: An Officer gave an individual a ride around town.

Civil Standby: Officers assisted with a civil standby on a writ of assistance.

Remand: Hedley, Michael Joseph, DOB 09/04/1986 of Valdez was remanded to Valdez City Jail for Probation Violation. . Mr. Hedley’s condition of probation was not to use illegal drugs. His probation officer requested a drug test upon contact with him; to which he failed.

Alarm – Panic: A panic alarm was activated at a local business. An Officer responded and found that someone had accidentally pushed the alarm button.

Public Service: The Animal Control Officer gave a trapper safety class at the Civic Center.

Animal Dead on Arrival: A red older model Jeep Cherokee hit a dog and left the scene on Mineral Creek Loop road. Officers responded to the area but were not able to locate any vehicles matching the description in that area. This case is currently under investigation.

Welfare Check: A caller requested a welfare check on a shipmate that had made indications of harming himself. An Officer spoke to the individual, he was happy and everything was fine.

Assist Medical: An Officer assisted the EMS with a medical call.

Alarm – Burglar: An Alarm company reported a burglar alarm at a local business. An Officer responded to the business and everything was fine.

Trail Call: Officers were requested at court for pending cases.

Traffic Complaint: A caller reported an individual was driving in violation of his revoked license.

Bench Warrant: Ward, Valton Donald, DOB 11/24/1981, of Valdez turned himself in on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear for arraignment on 10/13/16, original charge of driving without a valid license.

Trial Call: The Animal Control Officer was requested at court for a pending case.

MICS Marijuana: A caller reported two women smoking pot in the parking lot of a local business. An Officer responded but there was no one in the vehicle or in the area.

Motor Vehicle Accident – Damage: A caller reported a vehicle ran into his neighbor’s residence. Officers responded to the scene. A tow truck was requested.

Traffic Complaint: Two callers reported a red SUV driving in a dangerous manner. An Officer contacted the owner of the vehicle and informed her that he would be putting a request for DMV retesting.

Theft Property: A report of theft from a residence was received. This case is currently under investigation.

Animal at Large: A caller reported a yellow lab wondering in the area. An Officer responded to the area but was unable to locate any dogs in the area.

Agency Assist: Valdez Police Department was requested to assist the Hospital with a patient who left the facility and was considered to be suicidal. An Officer located the individual and took him back to the hospital.

Disturbance Noise: A caller reported a male and a female arguing and screaming at each other. An Officer responded and determined it was just a verbal argument nothing physical. The parties were separated for the night.

Theft Property: A caller reported someone stole his prescription glasses from his vehicle in the Safeway parking lot. This case is currently under investigation.

Agency Assist: The Valdez Police Department assisted the Fire Department with a vehicle that was on fire in Thompson Pass.

Serve Time: Lemieux, Leah Marie, DOB 08/29/97, of Valdez checked into the Valdez Jail to serve 3 days on original charges of Driving under the Influence.

Possible Drunk Driver: While on patrol an Officer saw a white pickup truck driving down the middle of the road and go into the oncoming lane. The Officer stopped the vehicle and the driver was negative for alcohol.

Harassment: A caller reported being harassed by another individual, who was threatening him. The caller just wanted the Police Department to be aware of it, no further action at this time.

Disturbance Other: A caller reported that she was being harassed. Officers responded to the residence and subsequently an individual was taken into custody for violating conditions of release.

Violate Conditions of Release: Moore, Billy Jeffrey, DOB 10/07/65, of Valdez was cited for Violating Conditions of Release on a prior Domestic Violence Charge.

Motor Vehicle Accident – Damage: A caller reported that he backed up and hit a light pole. There was no damage to the pole.

Vehicle in Ditch: A caller reported a vehicle in the ditch at Mile 4.5. An Officer responded to the area and found the vehicle off the roadway. The owner was getting help to get the vehicle out of the ditch.

Domestic Criminal Mischief: A caller reported someone broke two doors inside her house and won’t leave. Officers responded to the residence and arrested Hunter, Ryan Lee, DOB 03/22/1987, of Valdez for DV Criminal Mischief 4th degree and Violating Conditions of release on a prior Assault Charge.

Agency Assist: A caller reported a vehicle off the road 14 miles outside of Glennallen heading towards Anchorage. No injuries and a tow truck had been called. Trooper were notified for that area.

Public Assistance: A caller reported he had a flat tire and was stuck on the pipe pad. He could not get out and requested help. Doyon was contacted and has taken over the incident since it was on their property.
