BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM AKDT SUNDAY FOR THOMPSON PASS…

  •  LOCATION…THOMPSON PASS MILE POST 23 TO 33.
  • SNOW…ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES.
  •  VISIBILITY…NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AT TIMES.
  •  WIND…25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH INCREASING TO 40 TO 50 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 65 MPH BY SATURDAY MORNING…THEN DIMINISHING TO 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH SATURDAY NIGHT.
  •  TIMING…CONDITIONS WILL DETERIORATE THROUGH THIS EVENING.STRONGEST WINDS AND WORST VISIBILITY WILL LIKELY OCCUR NEARSATURDAY MORNING…IMPROVING THROUGH LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
  •  IMPACTS…SNOWFALL COMBINED WITH STRONG WINDS AND BLOWING SNOW WILL PRODUCE WHITE-OUT CONDITIONS. DRIVING WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT.

A BLIZZARD WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW WITH STRONG WINDS AND POOR VISIBILITIES ARE LIKELY. THIS WILL LEAD TO WHITE-OUT CONDITIONS…MAKING TRAVEL VERY DIFFICULT. ALL TRAVEL AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITY IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED.
