Motor Vehicle Accident with Damage: A white sedan was reported in the ditch on the inbound side of the road. An Officer contacted the owners who were getting a tow truck to move it.
Animal Bite: A dog bite was reported to the Valdez Police Department. The Animal Control Officer spoke with the victim, who was bit by a stray dog. Please remember to keep your dogs on a leash or secured on your property.
Family Issues: A mother called to report her daughter’s boyfriend was sneaking into her house on a regular basis. An Officer issued the boy a trespass from the residence.
Animal at Large: A large dog was reported running free. The Community Service Officer responded but the owner had claimed the dog.
Animal at Large: A dog was reported running free on Chena Street. The Animal Control Officer responded but the owner picked up the dog as he arrived on scene.

Bear Incident: A caller reported that their neighbor was out of town and a bear had gotten into their garbage. The baler facility was notified and the garbage was cleaned up. Please remember to keep trash cans secured or locked up.
Suspicious Vehicle: A business owner reported a white van parking was in their parking lot every night between 1:30 am and 3:00 am. This case is currently under investigation.
Traffic Complaint: A bus driver reported an orange van did not stop while the bus was dropping off a child. The bus driver honked the horn and the van finally stopped just beyond the bus. This case is currently under investigation.
Correct Citation: A man came into the Valdez Police Department to have a proof of insurance ticket corrected. An Officer verified he had proof of insurance and the time of the stop and corrected the citation.
Welfare Check: A woman flagged down an Officer and told him that her husband was not suppose to be driving and just drove off. As Officers were responding to the call the woman called and stated that her husband brought the car back.
Civil Dispute: A caller reported that a court order was in place and being violated. An Officer spoke with the complainant and advised them to go back to court as this was a civil issue.

Possible 10-55: A report of a grey sedan leaving the hospital with an intoxicated driver was received. An Officer responded and the guy got a cab. No further action required.
Driving without a license: A caller reported that an individual, who does not have a valid license, just drove past him. This case is currently under investigation.
Bear Incident: A caller reported that a bear got into the neighbors garbage and made a big mess. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area, spoke with the individual who agreed to get the garbage squared away or take it to the dumpster.
Animal at Large: A caller reported a black dog running on the highway towards the harbor. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area but was unable to locate the dog.
Animal at Large: A caller reported an animal at large. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area and picked up the dog at large. The Owner was contacted and the dog was returned to the owner.
Motor Vehicle Accident – Damage: Two cars were involved in a motor vehicle accident with air bags deployed. Officers and EMS responded to the area. An Officer transported one individual to the hospital.
Remand: Palmer probation took Josh Tucker, DOB 08/08/92 of Valdez into custody for probation violation.
Assist Medical: Officers assisted the Fire Department with a medical call.

Public Assist: An Officer stopped to talk with an individual who looked panicked, due to losing his debit card. The Officer helped him find it.
Disturbance Other: An Officer was requested at the hospital for an unruly individual. The Officer responded and the person left, nothing further required.
Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on a juvenile. An Officer located the juvenile and everything was fine.
Public Assist: An Officer assisted a woman with trying to find a Vin number on her trailer for a title.
Civil Dispute: A woman gave her ex a bike and then demanded it back. An Officer responded and took the bike until the owner can pick it up.
Suspicious Vehicle: A caller reported two older men in a gray Jeep driving around taking pictures of houses in the neighborhood. An Officer made contact with the individuals who stated they are taking pictures because they are getting ready to build houses.

Animal at Large: A caller reported a dog running loose. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area but did not see any dog running free.
Civil Dispute: A caller wanted police assistance with trespassing three individuals from his residence. An Officer spoke with one of the three individuals and advised them of the trespass.
Civil Standby: Officers did a Civil Standby at a residence.
Trespassing: A caller reported that a white Pathfinder was trespassing across the Alyeska ROW property and onto Copper Valley Electric Association property. No trespassing signs will be posted in the area. This case is currently under investigation.
Animal Dead on Arrival: A caller reported a dead animal. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area to remove the dead animal.
Citizen Assist: While on patrol an Officer saw a vehicle pulled off the roadway with their hazard lights on. The Officer stopped and spoke with the individual who did not need any assistance.
Barking Dog: A caller reported dogs barking. An Officer responded to the residence, no one was home; a warning was left on the door.
Strange Activity: A caller reported some teens were at Safeway when they were approached by kids wearing Clown masks. Officers responded to the area but the clowns had left. Another caller reported the clowns at the Middle School. An Officer contacted the individuals involved and told them to stop clowning around!
Family-Neighbor Fights: A caller reported he and his wife were fighting and he wanted an Officer. He then changed his mind and did not want an Officer to respond. Officers responded to the residence but neither party would answer the door or the phone. No further action taken.

Stop Field Investigation: While on patrol an Officer stopped to speak with some individuals in a white van in the dry dock area in reference to a call earlier in the week.
Vehicle in Ditch: While on patrol an Officer saw a vehicle in the ditch. The Officer stopped and found the vehicle had blown a tire. The driver had help on the way so nothing further was needed from the Officer.
Juvenile related information: A group of juveniles about 13/14 years old appeared to be harassing a group of 9/10 year old juveniles according to a caller, who thought they were taking their bikes. An Officer responded to the area and found they were all smiles and just playing around. All bikes were present, no further action required.
Alarm – Other: A caller reported an audible alarm coming from a residence. An Officer responded to the area, found the residence locked and no one around. Contact was made with the home owners and the Fire Department went into the residence to check things out.
Alarm – Burglar: A report of a burglar alarm was received. An Officer responded to the business and found the cleaners had set the alarm off and were resetting it.

Problem with Neighbors: A caller reported a women crying and hearing pounding coming from an apartment near her. Officers responded to the area and found a woman outside of a residence. She was given a ride to another location.
General Contact: While on patrol an Officer assisted a tourist who was lost and looking for a local Bed and Breakfast.
Theft of Services: A local restaurant called to report a patron left without paying.
Alarms: Due to the power outage numerous alarms were set off. Officers responded to various businesses in town to make sure the buildings were secure.
Domestic: A third party called to report a couple having a domestic dispute. Officers responded to the residence and the two individuals were separated for the night.

Fraud: Complainant reported a fraud call involving prize winnings. Complainant was advised not to give out any personal information or send money to anyone.
Animal Impound: A caller reported a dog at large. The Animal Control Officer impounded the dog and took it to the shelter.
Found Property: A leopard print wallet belonging to Diana Demarais was found and turned into the Valdez Police Department.
Animal Bite: A caller reported that they were attacked by a dog; they were bitten on their foot. The dog was a white pit bull, with a brown spot over its eye and not on a leash. The Animal Control Officer investigated and issued a citation to the owner.
Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on an individual. An Officer attempted to make contact but was unable to locate the person.
Possible Drunk Driver: A caller reported that her husband had been drinking and drove off with the children in the car. Officers responded to the area, contacted the driver and found there had been a verbal argument and the driver was negative for a DUI. The individuals were separated for the night.
Serve Time: Erick Cook, DOB 08/20/79, of Glennallen, checked in to the Valdez Jail to serve time on the charge of DUI.
Family Issues: Complainant reported a possible domestic issue in progress. Officers responded to the residence to investigate. No arrest was made.

Animal Dead on Arrival: While on patrol the Animal Control Officer found a dead porcupine on the side of the road.
Burglary Residential: A caller reported a man with a carhartt jacket trying to gain entry into a residence. An Officer responded to the residence and found the owner had lost his key and was trying to get into his house.
Possible Drunk Driver: A caller reported a driver that may be drunk. An Officer located the vehicle at the Medical Center but no one was in the vehicle.
Abandoned Vehicle: A caller reported that a vehicle had been abandoned in front of his house. An Officer contacted the owner of the vehicle who stated that he would move it within 24 hours.

Alarm – Other: Caller reported hearing an alarm coming from the house next door. They attempted to contact someone inside the residence but no one responded. An Officer and the Fire Department responded to the residence to investigate and determined that the alarm was from a very loud clock.
Domestic No Arrest: Complainant reported that they were having a verbal argument and was scared. Officers responded to the residence and determined that there was no assault and provided the complainant transportation from the residence.
Neighbor Issues: A caller reported that they were having problems with their neighbor and the neighbor’s dog. An Officer investigated the incident and found no crime had been committed.
Animal Aggression: A caller reported that a dog was off a leash and attacked their dog. An Officer spoke to the individual and turned the case over to the Animal Control Officer.

Assist EMS Crew: Officers responded to a residence to assist EMS with an individual who had fallen and was unable to get up.
Abandoned Vehicle: Complainant reported a vehicle had been parked on the dock for two days. Owner of the vehicle was contacted and it was moved.
Family Issues: Complainant reported their girlfriend had spent the day drinking and doing drugs and was yelling and causing a disturbance. Officers contacted the girlfriend and found there had been no alcohol consumption, she calmed down and officers left the residence.

Open Door: While on patrol, an officer discovered an open door at a local business. The officer cleared the building and was able to secure the door.

Domestic, Non-Arrest: Complainant reported to dispatch being thrown to the floor by her boyfriend and having her phone taken away to keep her from calling 911. Subject had left the residence prior to officer arrival. Complainant told officers they had a verbal argument only. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
Serve Time: Natalie Gabler, DOB 03/11/1986, of Valdez, checked in to the Valdez Jail to serve time on the charge of DUI.
Animal at Large: Caller reported a yellow lab running loose near the shelter. Officers were unable to locate the dog.
Serve Time: Therese Salazar, DOB 4/19/1960, of Valdez, checked in to the Valdez Jail to serve time on charge of DUI and Endangering Welfare of a Child.
Possible Drunk Driver: While on patrol an officer was flagged down by a motorist to report a possible drunk driver. The officer contacted the suspect driver and found that the driver had not consumed any alcohol.
Welfare Check: Dispatch received a call from an unknown number, the call was then disconnected. Dispatch recognized the caller and sent officers to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers found the residence with no electricity. They were unable to get the power to come back on and advised the homeowner to call an electrician.

Animal Impound: A local business reported a dog running around. An officer responded, retrieved the dog and took it to the shelter.
Traffic Complaint: Complainant reported a large dump truck driving outbound had debris flying out the back. Dispatch contacted the driver who agreed to go back and pick everything up.
Animal at Large: A local business reported a little dog had made its way inside. An officer responded but the employees didn’t want the dog going to “doggy jail” so they kept the dog and posted it on social media and was able to find the owner.

Stop FI: An officer contacted two juveniles who were running down the street. They were running home, trying to beat the clock before it was past curfew.
Suspicious Vehicle: Caller reported a vehicle had been parked next to their residence, next to the fuel tank, for a couple of hours. The vehicle left before the officers arrived.
Motor Vehicle Accident w/Damage: A single motor vehicle accident occurred near 5 mile when the vehicle hit an icy patch causing the vehicle to roll into the river. All occupants were able to exit the vehicle, no injuries were reported.
Motor Vehicle Accident w/Damage: While investigating the MVA at 5 mile, the officer came upon another single motor vehicle accident near 7 mile. All occupants were able to exit the vehicle, no injuries were reported.
Road conditions between Dayville and 10 Mile are extremely icy. Winter is here, drive with caution.
Serve time: Christian McGee, DOB 7/12/1979, of Valdez, checked in to the Valdez Jail to serve time on the charge of DUI.
