Public Hearings Set for Permanent Fund Voter Registration Initiative Ballot Measure

September 22, 2016 JUNEAU – The Office of the Lt. Governor has scheduled several public hearings on Ballot Measure #1, the Permanent Fund Voter Registration Initiative, to take place in Alaska’s four judicial districts.

The hearings are required under a law passed by the Alaska State Legislature in 2010. Alaska Statute 15.45.195 requires the lieutenant governor to hold two or more public hearings concerning the initiative in each judicial district of the state, at least 30 days before the Tuesday, November 8, 2016 election. All hearings will be available via teleconference and citizens may call in toll-free to testify at 1-844-586-9085. Anyone may listen live at the same number, or online at http://akl.tv.

In addition to testifying in person or by phone at the scheduled hearings, anyone may submit public comment on this initiative at any time through this public notice (http://notice.alaska.gov/182725). Click on the “Leave a Comment” link at the bottom of the notice.)
