Intoxicated Pedestrian: While on patrol an Officer stopped to talk with a woman that was staggering. She was almost to her destination, no further action required.
Open Door: While on patrol an Officer noticed a vehicle door was left open. No one was around and the vehicle contents appeared to be ok so the Officer shut and locked the door.
Domestic no arrest: A caller reported her ex boyfriend tried to grab her. An Officer responded to the scene and was assured it was just a verbal argument. The Officer provided AVV’s information.
Found Property: A wallet was found in the Valdez Area with credit cards and Id. The owner was contacted and the wallet was returned to the owner.
Agency Assist: Valdez Police Department assisted the Glennallen State Troopers with a welfare check on an individual in the Valdez area.
Animal at Large: While on patrol the Community Safety Officer had a dog run out in front of him. He contacted the owner and reminded him of the leash law.
Gunshot Heard: An Officer received a complaint of a gunshot heard. The Officer investigated the area but could not hear any gunshots or fireworks.
Violate Conditions of Release: Trefon, Katrina DOB 4/21/87 violated conditions of release by contacting a victim of domestic assault. She was issued a citation for violating conditions of release.
Violate Conditions of Release: A caller reported a male and female outside of the Boardroom fighting and yelling. Officers responded to the area and issued citations for violating conditions of release to Rose Chilligan, DOB: 11/23/82 of Chugiak and Byron Phillips, DOB: 6/28/1993 of Anchorage.
Domestic no arrest: A caller reported a couple was intoxicated and fighting at their residence. Officers arrived on scene and questioned the parties involved. Alcohol was involved and the parties were separated for the night.
Lost Property: A caller reported that she lost her I-phone 6 possibly in the area of dock point. If found please drop it off at the Valdez Police Department.

Welfare check: While on patrol an Officer heard screaming and stopped to investigate. The individuals were intoxicated, being loud and agreed to quiet down. No further action taken.
Criminal Mischief: While on patrol an Officer found a bench had been moved and a construction sign was moved into the road. The Officer removed the sign from the road.
Criminal Mischief: A caller reported that the bathrooms at Dock Point had been vandalized. An Officer responded to the area and found that the toilet paper had been stolen, feces smeared on the toilet and the dispensers were damaged. If anyone has information regarding this incident please call the Valdez Police Department.
Permit Alcohol: A catering permit for the Valdez Arts Council was requested and approved.
Disturbance Other: A caller reported an altercation in the parking lot between a guy and a gal. An Officer responded to the area to investigate, contacted both parties and separated them. The male driver was also cited for DWLR.
Welfare Check: A caller reported a man with his pants down and no shirt on walking backwards up the street. Officers responded to the area and transported the man to the hospital.
Camping: A caller reported RV’s parking and camping alongside the Dayville Road in a non camping area. An Officer responded to the area but did not find anyone camping in an area that was forbidden.
Bear Incident: A caller reported seeing a large black bear and 2 cubs in the Homestead road area twice during the day. This was an informational call only.
Citizen Contact: An Officer made contact with a patron who had left the restaurant without paying part of the bill. The person stated they did not know they had two bills and agreed to pay the business.
Public Service: An Officer spoke to a Cub Scout group that came to the Valdez Police Department.
Suspicious Person: A report of a man exhibiting strange behavior and talking to himself was received. An Officer responded to the area and spoke with the individual.
DUI: VPD dispatch received a call regarding a possibly intoxicated driver. An Officer responded and saw the vehicle swerving all over the road. Tyler Springer, DOB: 6/05/86 of Valdez was arrested for Driving under the Influence. His Breath Alcohol level was .286
Suspicious Person: A caller reported their neighbors alarm was going off and they could see what looked liked light from flashlights outside the residence. An Officer responded to the area and spoke with the homeowner who stated that his car alarm went off earlier. Officers searched the area but did not find anyone suspicious around the residence.

Summonsed: Kompkoff, Kristopher Carroll DOB 9/30/1997 of Tatitlek was summonsed for Harassment.
Driving without a License: Alec Smith, DOB: 10/15/92 of Wasilla was arrested for Driving without a valid license and given a warning for violating conditions of release.
Suspicious Person: A caller reported that there were men hanging around her house. An Officer responded to the area to investigate and found no signs of anyone in the area and recommended some lighting for the area.
Citizen Contact: A caller requested a message be passed on to a family member that they could not reach. An Officer passed the message along.
Trespassing: A local business called to report that an individual had been trespassed from their business and was on the property. An Officer responded to the area and spoke with the individual to remind them of the trespass which includes the parking lot.

Civil: A caller reported receiving a threatening letter under their door during the night. An Officer responded and spoke with the parties involved and determined this is a civil issue.
Animal Impound: The Community Safety Officer impounded an animal that was running at large.
Permit Issues: Community Development received an anonymous tip that someone was cutting wood behind Robe River subdivision. Officers investigated the area and later contacted the individual, who was issued a citation for violation of Valdez City Ordinance 9.02.010(k), harvesting wood without a valid permit.

Agency Assist: A caller reported an ex employee refused to turn in some keys. An Officer spoke to both parties and it was agreed that in exchange for the individuals last check, the keys would be turned over.
Camping: A caller reported someone camping at dock point. The Community Safety Officer found the tent and left a door hanger. Later the Animal Control Officer spoke to the individual who agreed to move the tent.
Animal Aggression: A caller reported that while she was jogging, some dogs came out acting aggressive towards her. The Animal Control Officer spoke with the owner of the dogs and issued a warning.
Bear Incident: A caller reported a black bear causing problems. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area to control the crowd. The bear took his fish and went back into the brush, the crowd dispersed.
Lost Property: A caller reported that she lost her black zipper wallet with Id and bank cards. If found please drop it off at the Valdez Police Department.
Disturbance Noise: A caller reported that the neighbors were having a fire and being loud for the third time this week. An Officer spoke with the individuals and they agreed to turn the music down.

Disturbance Bar: A caller reported a fight at the bar and requested officers and the medics. Officers responded to the area and spoke to several individuals. The victim declined to press charges at the time.
Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on an individual that had sent an email stating that they wanted help. An Officer contacted the individual and he stated that he was not going to harm himself.
Animal DOA: The Animal Control Officer found a dead animal in the road and removed it.
Bear Incident: A caller reported bears in the area. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area but the bears had left before he arrived.
Animal at Large: A report of a yellow dingo looking dog was received. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area but the owner had claimed the dog.
Property: A caller reported seeing a bike across from the Ruth Pond bathrooms and thought it might be the one from the Nixel message. An Officer responded located the bike but it was not the stolen bike mention in Nixel.
Animal At Large: A caller reported the neighbors dogs jumped through an open window and were running free nipping at people. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area and contacted the owner of the dogs. The dogs were caught and secured back in the residence.
Agency Assist: A caller reported the wind split a tree in her neighbor’s yard. The City Shop was contacted. The tree was on private property so the owners were provided a contact number for someone to assist them.
Animal Cruelty: A caller reported a guy walking his dog on the side of the road, jerking it and lifting it 3 feet off the ground and kicking it. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area but was unable to locate anyone matching the description given.
Bear Incident: A caller reported that a black bear was inside their boat which was parked in their yard. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area but the bear had left.
Bear Incident: A caller reported a black bear at the Salmon turnaround and a crowd starting to gather. An Officer responded to the area, the bear left and the crowd dispersed.
Citizen Contact: A man stopped by the Police Department to request a welfare check on a man from Fairbanks. An Officer responded and spoke with the individual who said he was fine and would be heading home in the morning.

Hazard: A caller reported a construction sign in the road. Officers responded to the area but did not see any signs in the road.
Disturbance Noise: A caller reported someone yelling and running down the street. An Officer responded to the area heard someone in the park strip but was unable to locate anyone.
Fraud: An individual came to the Police Department to discuss a fraud issue. An Officer followed up by calling the number provided. It was a computerized voice and most likely was fraudulent. The Officer informed the complainant to contact his service provider to block the phone number and do not call the number back.
Assist Medical: The Officers assisted the Valdez Fire Department with a medical rescue at Worthington Glacier.
Transport Other: Officer furnished transportation to the Animal Shelter for a guy whose dog had a bunch of porcupine quills stuck in him.
Agency Assist: Valdez Providence Hospital requested an Officer’s assistance with a vehicle that was parked in the helicopter landing area.
Motor Vehicle Accident – Damage: A caller reported a motorcycle accident at the salmon turnaround. An Officer responded to the area and issued par forms. Nothing further was needed.
Suspicious Person: A caller reported an average build male wearing a black hoodie and baggy jeans walking away from her neighbor’s house and going to another neighbor’s house. An Officer responded to the area but did not see anyone matching the description in the area.
Lost Property: A caller reported her credit card lost and someone posted on Face book that they found it. Please turn into the Police Department so it can be returned to the owner.
Parking Problems: While on patrol an Officer stopped to deal with a car parked in a no parking area.
Barking Dog: A caller reported that a dog in the area had been barking for the last hour and a half. An Officer responded to the area and the dog was impounded and taken to the Animal Shelter.

Theft Vehicle: A caller reported his truck was missing; it was not where he parked it. The vehicle was later located at a different business and the owner was informed where the truck was located.
Animal Impound: A male dog was brought to the Valdez Police Department after it was found on a porch. An Officer took it to the Animal Shelter.
Litter: While on patrol an Officer found a bunch of garbage in the road. The Officer cleaned up the area.
Civil Problem/Dispute: A caller reported that an individual has his stuff and won’t give it back and requested an Officer for assistance. An Officer responded to the residence and informed them it is a civil issue.
Theft of Property: A caller reported a girl just stole a life preserver from the dock. An Officer responded and spoke with the individual; she was confused about the signage and put the life preserver back.
Animal Information: A caller reported Rex the dog showed up at Safeway. They were able to contact the owner who came by to pick him up.
