Summons: Williams, James Lee DOB 11/10/45 of Valdez was summons to appear in court for charges of Criminal Mischief 4th Degree.
Theft Property: An electronic switch that controls cameras on the Ferry Terminal was reported as stolen. Please contact the Valdez Police Department if you have any knowledge of this theft.
Animal at Large: A report of a dog at large was received. The Animal Control officer responded to the area located the dog but was unable to apprehend. The dog’s owner was also looking for him.
Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested on a juvenile that was visiting for the summer. Officers were able to make contact with the juvenile who was fine and contacted the concerned parent.
Animal at Large: A report of a Chihuahua running down Eagle was reported. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area but the dog had left the area.
Correct Citation: An individual stopped by the Valdez Police Department to show proof of insurance. An Officer corrected the citation and it was returned to court.
Animal Cruelty: A report of animal cruelty was received. The Animal Control Officer examined the dog and found it to be underweight but saw no signs of abuse. The owner was to follow up with the veterinarian.
Animal Information: A report was received concerning chickens that were attacked by a neighbor’s dog. The Animal Control Officer responded to investigate the incident.
Suspicious Activity: A report of people with flashlights searching around the Betty Cato Bridge was received. An Officer responded to the area and found two people out gathering rocks.

Theft Property: A caller reported that saw horses were taken from a residence. An Officer responded to the residence to investigate. The saw horses were located and returned to the proper owner.
Camping: A report of an RV camping in a no camping zone was received. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area and spoke with the party involved. They agreed to move. When the Animal Control Officer checked back later the RV was gone from the area.
Summons: Vlasoff, Edward Paul, DOB 5/11/72, of Tatitlek was summons to appear in court on charges of Theft 2nd degree and Fraudulent use – Access Device.
Welfare Check: A vehicle parked with a man slumped over the wheel was reported. An Officer responded to the area and located the vehicle and everyone was fine.
Public Service: An Officer gave a drug presentation to Prince William Sound College.
Found Property: A purple and silver bike was dropped off to the Valdez Police Department. If you have lost your bike please call the Valdez Police Department with descriptors to claim.
Camping: The Harbormaster reported a motor home parked in a no camping area by the Harbormaster’s Office. The Animal Control Officer placed a door hanger on the vehicle.
Protective Order Domestic Violence Denial: A Protective Order was issued and served.
Traffic Complaint: A caller reported a black van with the word ‘Taylor’ down the side speeding on Airport road and then blew thru a stop sign. An Officer responded to the area but did not find any vehicles matching the description. The Officer also contacted the business to discuss the incident.
Neighbor Issues: A caller reports a man coming onto her property and flipping her off and yelling at her. An Officer responded to the residence but the party did not want the Officer to confront the individual or trespass him.
Animal at Large: An animal at large in the Safeway parking lot was reported. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area but the owner had picked up the dog.

Open Window: While on patrol an Officer noticed windows open at a local business. The Officer closed the windows and everything was fine at the location.
Found Property: A wallet was dropped off to the Valdez Police Department. If you have lost your wallet call the Valdez Police Department with Identifiers to claim.
Juvenile Issues: A four year old juvenile had been calling dispatch for the last few weeks. He was finally identified and Mom brought him in to show him around and meet the dispatchers he had been talking to on the phone.
Found Property: A yellow neon and black jacket with Madrid on the back of it was dropped off at the Valdez Police Department. Please call the Valdez Police Department with identifiers to claim if this is yours.
Serve Time: Paulsen, Kalvin G DOB 1/14/87 of Valdez to serve 30 days for Indecent View/Photo w/o consent.
Possible Drunk Driver: The Harbormaster called to report a boat that had been totaled out on the water was being lifted out. The Coast Guard was contacted, and Officers responded to the scene. Numerous people were interviewed. The Captain of the boat was transported to Providence for treatment. This case is currently under investigation.

Public Assist: An Officer was requested at a local business that was closing for the night; complainant reported someone standing by her vehicle and did not feel safe to approach the vehicle. Officers responded and made sure it was safe to approach the vehicle. No one was in the area.
911 Hang UP: Officers responded to check out a 911 hang up. Upon arrival, the Officers found a back door unsecured which gave access to the upper and lower apartment units. Officers found everyone OK and that they were having phone issues.
Vehicle Impound: A caller reported a small blue car on Copper Ave heading out to sea. Officers responded to the area and found water coming fast. The vehicle was impounded after attempts to locate the owner were unsuccessful.
Welfare Check: A welfare check was requested for a charter boat captain that did not show up for his morning charter. An Officer located the captain at his residence.
Bear Incident: A caller reported a dead black bear on the highway at mile marker 23. This was passed on to the Trooper since it was outside City Limits.
Animal Neglect: A caller reported a puppy across from her trailer had been outside for over an hour howling. Officers impounded the dog and the case was passed on to the Animal Control Officer for follow up.
Domestic Disturbance: A caller reported he took his dog on a walk and when he got back home his roommate was leaving and his roommate’s girlfriend was crying. An Officer responded to investigate and found no crime committed, it was an argument over an ex-boyfriend.

Traffic Complaint: A caller reported a vehicle passed him on the right side in a no passing zone at the Salmon Turn around. Officers were busy with other calls and unable to respond.
Suspicious Person: A person wanted to talk to an Officer about a guy that lived close by and was strange. An Officer talked with the complainant and discussed the subject and stated if they had any more issues to call the Police Department.
Found Property: A grey Jacket was found and dropped off at the Police Department. Call with descriptors to claim if you have lost your jacket.
Citizen Contact: While on patrol an Officer was flagged down by a couple who complained about someone dumping stuff on their property.

Disturbance Bar: A caller reported someone starting a fight at the Boardroom. An Officer responded to the bar and spoke with several individuals and everything was fine.
Transport Other: While on patrol an Officer saw a woman that was having trouble walking. For safety reasons he transported her to her residence.
Animal at Large: A caller reported a small grey rat looking dog standing in the middle of the road daring cars to run it over. The Community Service Officer responded to the area, found the dogs’ owner and explained the leash laws to them.
Littering: A caller reported that an individual had dumped a bunch of construction materials including a bathtub in a residential dumpster. An Officer responded to the area and found no violations.
Locate: A mother called in to report that her three year old daughter had walked away. She called back to report that she had been found.
Bear Incident: Parks and Recreation reported that the bears are vandalizing the Cemetery. The Parks and Recreation Department have made repairs to head stones; flowers etc on at least four occasions and are requesting the Animal Control Officer to hit the bears with non-lethal rounds so they would leave the area. The Animal Control Officer is monitoring the situation.
Animal Impound: A golden retriever was found wandering around. The complainant made several attempts to locate an owner, but could not, so he dropped the dog off at the Animal Shelter.
Animal Cruelty: A caller reported two dogs in one kennel outside of a residence. The Animal Control Officer responded to the area but could not find any kennels with dogs in them.
Parking: While on patrol the Animal Control Officer asked the owners of a parked vehicle to move off the bike path. They agreed to relocate. The Animal Control Officer located more vehicles parked in no parking zones and requested that they move. They agreed to relocate.
Open Window: A caller reported open windows at a local business. An Officer went to the business and closed the windows. Everything else appeared to be fine.
Suspicious Person: A caller reported a person outside of the prospector possibly sleeping but just did not look right. An Officer responded to the area and spoke with the person who was on his way to a local Hotel. After patrolling the area the Officer found the same person standing in front of the Prospector. The Officer provided the individual a ride to the local hotel, after he stated he could not find it.
Suspicious Vehicle: A caller reported a suspicious vehicle behind his house. The caller spoke with the person in the vehicle but was not sure what they were doing. An Officer responded to the residence and spoke with the individual in the car. No further assistance was needed they agreed to move on.

Theft of Property: While searching for a subject an Officer was approached and told of a theft of a cell phone from an individual at the Boardroom. This case is currently under investigation.
Citizen Contact: While on patrol, an Officer stopped to talk to several people at Dock Point picnic area. There was a huge mess, alcohol bottles and trash left everywhere. The people in the area were not associated with the mess, they were tourists.
Agency Assist: Officers responded to assist with a report of a porch on fire.
Traffic Hazard: While on patrol an Officer came upon a vehicle in the middle of the roadway. The Officer helped get the vehicle off the road and the driver had help coming.
Family Issues: A caller reported she was having issues with family members not letting her in the house. An Officer responded to the residence to talk to the individuals.
Disturbance Other: An individual showed up at the hospital and requested to speak with an Officer. An Officer responded and diffused the situation.
Traffic Safety Issues: While on patrol the Animal Control Officer found that someone had moved the barricades, signs and tape from Copper Ave. and had been driving back there. He replaced the barricades and did not find anyone in the area.
Criminal Mischief: A flagger reported a man stomping on the paint that they had just painted. Officers responded to the area to investigate. The Officers were able to locate the individual involved and spoke with him about the incident. He was taking pictures of the sunset and did not realize he stepped in wet paint.
Open Window: A caller reported an open window at a local business. The manager was called and she stated she would take care of the windows.
Citizen Contact: While on patrol an Officer stopped to assist a motorist having car trouble.

Public Assist: While on patrol an Officer was flagged down by some tourists from China. Their car had died on the side of the road and he assisted them by contacting the rental company and having another vehicle sent down from Anchorage.
