United Way of Valdez has announced that with the help of funding from Providence Health and Services Alaska, they have donated fifty-one thousand dollars to the Valdez Community Playground.
Both United Way of Valdez and Providence Health & Services Alaska look forward to this playground providing school and community recreation and physical exercise opportunities for many years.

Construction of the playground was originally scheduled for last summer. (see VCN story) It is now scheduled for July 26-31, 2016.
