Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve is beginning work on a backcountry and wilderness stewardship planning effort for this summer. The planning will begin with a series of public open house meetings to discuss the scope of the plan, anticipated management challenges, the planning process, and to solicit public feedback. Public open house meetings will be held at the following times and dates:
– Tuesday, June 23: Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Preserve Visitor Center, Copper Center, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
– Wednesday, June 24: Slana Community building, Slana, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
– Thursday, June 25: Tok School multi-purpose room, Tok, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
– Tuesday, June 30: Campbell Creek Science Center, Anchorage, 6 – 9 p.m.
– Wednesday, July 1: City Library, Valdez, 5-7 p.m.
