Seven Appointed to New Economic Diversification Commission

Valdez City Council members cast their ballots and appointed seven local candidates as commissioners of the newly developed Economic Diversification Commission on September 15th during the City Council meeting.

Newly elected Commissioners are to serve two and four-year terms.

The four Commissioners appointed to serve three-year terms are Colleen Stephens, Keith Thomas, Dave Dangel and Mike Meadors.

Three Commissioners were appointed to serve two-year terms: Amanda Bauer, Scott Hicks and Ryan McCune.

According to the City of Valdez website, the Economic Diversification Commission is an advisory commission to the City Council with the authority to create and recommend for approval a comprehensive economic diversification strategy for the overall economic diversification of the Valdez Community.
